Welcome to the Florida PTA website! I’m excited that you’ve taken an opportunity to learn more about the oldest and largest child advocacy association in the nation! Whether you are new to PTA and are just checking out what’s going on, or you’re involved at the local, county or state level looking for information and resources, you’ve come to the right place.
Florida PTA has and always will have a seat at the table when crucial decisions are made that will affect our children. Members of our Board of Directors serve on many committees within the Department of Education, Department of Health and Department of Agriculture. We also have members that serve on National PTA committees, as well. When it comes to keeping a finger on the pulse of what is happening in our state and country, PTA is not only staying informed, we are impacting change.
We have such a rich history of advocating for children and families, one that began back in 1897 with Phoebe Apperson Hearst and Alice McLellan Burney. We still feel that passion that sparked a journey that has carried our voice for over 119 years. We believe in a free, high quality and fair education. We believe that education is not a partisan issue, but a people issue. We believe that those who are elected to represent our needs and make sound decisions for our future should value education and see that each child is unique and deserves every opportunity to achieve their potential.
